Tailored vs Relaxed

Tailored is more contoured to the body (not tight fitting) with a curved bottom hem. Relaxed offers more room through the chest and waist with a straight bottom hem.

Relaxed fits slightly roomier through the body and shoulders than Tailored in the same size.

About the Artist

PUARANGI-NZ HIBISCUS PRINT by Lisa Baudry.

"The hibiscus is such a beautiful flower and an incredibly popular motif in Hawaiian and Pacific Island textiles. I thought it would be fun to do a New Zealand version with our lesser-known native hibiscus, Puarangi".

I was fortunate enough to discover my love of drawing and painting at art class in high school and felt drawn to pursue an artistic career. I moved from the family farm where I was raised to Auckland to study graphic design at Auckland Institute of Technology. My first creative jobs were in home decor, painting ceramics for several Auckland tableware companies. I loved seeing how a decorative design could sell a product. In 2014, after about a decade in the graphic design field, I got re-acquainted with the field of surface pattern design and since then have had some wonderful opportunities to develop my work in this direction. I love going for walks in nature and my patterns often get inspired by what I discover there. I observe and photograph plants that catch my eye, and if possible collect specimens to draw back in my studio.

The hibiscus is such a beautiful flower and an incredibly popular motif in Hawaiian and Pacific Island textiles. I thought it would be fun to do a New Zealand version with our lesser-known native hibiscus, Puarangi. The leaves on this plant are quite narrow with tooth-like ridges along the perimeter. The flower is creamy in colour with a maroon centre. With this design I used some artistic license with the colours, layering the flowers with the distinctive flower pods and leaves in the background.

Returns: If you are not completely happy, you can return items in new, unworn condition with original tags within 30 days for an exchange or a refund to the original payment method. Exchanges within NZ are re-sent at no extra shipping cost. Original shipping is not refundable and, for refunds, any shipping paid by us may be deducted.
