“Fishing was a big part of my childhood. I vividly remember waking up early in the morning and the excitement of sitting in my grandfathers little tin boat which was being towed by the tractor down to the beach at Little Huia. We would spend hours out on the Manukau Harbour catching fresh kai moana for my Nan to fillet and cook us for lunch. The thrill of the rod tugging and bending when we hooked one, fighting to wind the fish in, and then to see the silhouette and glistening colours appear as it came to the surface of the water. It was almost always a snapper, but occasionally we were lucky enough to catch a kingfish, or a beautiful gurnard with its wings fanned out in a spectacular show. I loved looking at all the details on the fish, how the scales were so perfectly lined up and the different patterns they formed. These memories and visual images have inspired my design. By combining these images with Maori patterns, I hope to showcase the unique and iconic kai moana from Aotearoa.”

Shipping:

We process orders within 24–48 hours of receipt and dispatch on the next postal business day. All parcels are sent with tracking, and tracking details will be provided by email once your order has been shipped.

Please ensure your delivery address is entered correctly. If no one is available at the delivery address, the courier may leave the parcel in a safe place at their discretion. Delivery timeframes are estimates only and are not guaranteed once your parcel has been dispatched with the courier. Kaleo Designs is not liable for delays, loss, damage, or parcels delivered to an incorrectly supplied address.

Returns & Exchanges:

If you are not completely happy with your purchase, items may be returned in new, unworn condition with original tags attached within 30 days of purchase for an exchange or refund to the original payment method.

Exchanges are permitted one time only per order/item. For customers within New Zealand, the exchange will be re-sent at no additional shipping cost. Any further exchange requests will be at the cost of the customer. Please check availability of exchanged product prior to returning product to us, or call us.

Refunds will be issued less any original shipping costs incurred by Kaleo Designs in sending your order, plus a $15 processing fee.
