About the Artist

Be Fruitful Citrus Design

Zara took inspiration from Kerikeri’s title as the “citrus capital.” The print brings together bold slices of oranges, lemons and limes with fragrant blossoms, twisting leaves, and subtle koru-like curves. Its layered detail captures both abundance and movement—like the feeling of wandering through an orchard alive with colour, scent, and growth.

Zara is a Kerikeri-based designer with a background in fashion design, having worked both in New Zealand and in London. Fashion was her first creative outlet—an expression that allowed her to uplift people and help them feel like their best selves. These days, her creativity takes many forms, from developing prints and surface patterns to the occasional project in illustration, branding, or craft.

She enjoys dabbling across mediums—gouache painting, pottery, bone carving, even building giant flowers—but what unites her practice is a love of turning ideas into something real. For Zara, making is a kind of superpower: the ability to pluck something from imagination and bring it into the world. That transformation, from vision to tangible creation, still feels like magic.

Zara and her husband also own Max Coffee, a specialty roaster here in Kerikeri.

Shipping:

We process orders within 24–48 hours of receipt and dispatch on the next postal business day. All parcels are sent with tracking, and tracking details will be provided by email once your order has been shipped.

Please ensure your delivery address is entered correctly. If no one is available at the delivery address, the courier may leave the parcel in a safe place at their discretion. Delivery timeframes are estimates only and are not guaranteed once your parcel has been dispatched with the courier. Kaleo Designs is not liable for delays, loss, damage, or parcels delivered to an incorrectly supplied address.

Returns & Exchanges:

If you are not completely happy with your purchase, items may be returned in new, unworn condition with original tags attached within 30 days of purchase for an exchange or refund to the original payment method.

Exchanges are permitted one time only per order/item. For customers within New Zealand, the exchange will be re-sent at no additional shipping cost. Any further exchange requests will be at the cost of the customer. Please check availability of exchanged product prior to returning product to us, or call us.

Refunds will be issued less any original shipping costs incurred by Kaleo Designs in sending your order, plus a $15 processing fee.
